Because this is the last challenge for the Student Blogging Challenge 10 we are evaluating so I need to answer these few questions.
Is two weeks early enough for registration to begin before the first challenge?
Yes I believe it is however it may not be for everyone to register so maybe make it 3 weeks just to make sure everyone has enough time to register and get prepared.
Did you subscribe by RSS or email in order to get the posts as soon as they were published?
I didn’t subscribe to get the latest post I just bookmarked this page on my search engine on my computer at home.
How useful are these pages in the header of the blogging challenge?
I personally didn’t really use them that much, only to get to other blogs but I do find that they would be handy, better than just having a whole heap of posts that had links to each of them in the sidebars.
Did you visit the actual challenge on the blog each week or did your teacher have a post on your class blog?
I visited the challenge at school and at home by myself. Our teacher also gave us a sheet suggesting what was compulsory and what was optional to complete.
Which challenges were the most useful?
I think the Favourites post because you could really just talk about yourself and it was really open ended.
Which challenges were the most interesting?
I think the most interesting post was the Favourite Colour one because I could add pictures and it was fun!
What would be some other topics you would like included in future challenges?
Maybe more posts that you can really choose what you want to do, what you like, do you have hobbies, etc.
Are more tutorial type challenges needed?
I think you need to do some tutorials on the essentials, like how to link a Set to a post, how to approve a comment, tutorials like that which I found really helpful when I was completing the challenge.
Were the ‘Visit These’ posts helpful?
Yes because you could get some ideas, and inspiration for more posts and pages.
Were the challenges where you had to embed, ie polls, cartoons, wallwisher etc interesting or could you not embed due to being a free Edublogs blog or a blogging platform that didn’t allow embedding?
Well I can embed those so I didn’t have a problem with them and I did find them interesting.
Were there enough chances to visit blogs from overseas and make links with other students/classes?
Yes I believe there was. I linked to a few and I thought that they would be really helpful to my readers.
Did you make global connections?
I don’t think I made any global connections from the Challenge, no more than usual.
Anything else you would like to mention about the challenge in particular?
I think that it is a great idea to have a challenge to further challenge all bloggers out there to strive to make their blogs better.
